Royal Navy Order of Battle

 

Most of the ships that make up the Royal Navy are operate in the Atlantic and North Sea region and are under the control of Allied Forces, Northwestern Europe (AFNORTH).

At any given time there is usually at least one RN carrier task force deployed to other parts of the globe. There are usually also several surface ships taking part in the two NATO multi-national surface task groups, one in the Atlantic and one in the Mediterranean.

4 Vanguard SSBN -- 3 put to sea, 1 readying to deploy.
6 Trafalgar SSN (Batch 2) -- 2 in S. Atlantic. 1 in port (Faslane), 3 on patrol (2 Atlantic, 1 GIUK)
6 Swiftsure SSN -- 4 subs on patrol: 2 North Sea, 2 E. Channel, 1 Irish Sea, 1 in port.
4 Upholder SS (Offered for sale) -- All 4 being revived for service. Will not be operational until 2/1, earliest.
