Royal Navy Order of Battle
Most of the ships that make up the Royal Navy are operate in
the Atlantic and North Sea region and are under the control of
Allied Forces, Northwestern Europe (AFNORTH).
At any given time there is usually at least one RN carrier
task force deployed to other parts of the globe. There are usually
also several surface ships taking part in the two NATO multi-national
surface task groups, one in the Atlantic and one in the Mediterranean.

- 2 Invincible class (CVS) -- 1 deployed to Mediterranean,
1 returning from Angola.

*( Newly launched. Undergoing sea trials and final systems
testing at this time. Could be deployed but some systems will
not be operational.)
Destroyers
- 12 Birmingham DDG -- 1 DDG sunk, 1
damaged, 1 undergoing overhaul, 4 in S. Atlantic. 5 DDGs remaining.

3 in S. Atlantic, 1 assigned to STANAVFORLANT, 1 assigned to
STANAVFORMED. 4 on patrol (2 in GIUK), 2 in Plymouth.
