TF Riki

A major OPFOR offensive is under way and is threatening to capture vital ports along the Baltic. The U.S. has deployed most of its forces northward to meet the attack, leaving only a few reserves of troops behind to protect their flank along the Vistula River. Which is exactly what OPFOR has counted on. During the night, another force -- about three battalions in strength -- has maneuvered around the U.S. flank and by morning is poised to cross the river and eventually destroy U.S. supply depots to the west. The only thing that stands in their way is a small, ragtag defense of U.S. troops, and the river itself. Played on Map 3. Game time: 60 minutes.

TF Jammer
When Major General Paul White, commanding the Second Division, realized that the 1st Brigade was gone, he ordered what was left of the 2nd Bigade to execute plan Napoleon, an emergency retreat to a position some 5 kilometers north of Seoul, and to link there with elements of the 3rd Brigade, now fighting with the cold and saboteurs to get mobilized. Five kilometers to the north, the North Korean 6th Armored Division stood down, now a gutted hulk, and allowed the 14th Armored Division to pass through them. The 14th was fresh, motivated, armed with T-72s, and carrying 150% of its basic ammo load. It passed through the shattered 6th Armored quickly, and took up the hunt for the Second Division. Minutes later, the lead T-72s of the 14th Armored appeared in the thermal sights of one of the 5th Cav's Bradleys, and opened fire. Played on Map 100. Game time 60 minutes.

The cease-fire in Bosnia is breaking down. Bosnian Serbs, after months of secretly rebuilding their army, are mobilizing across a wide front. Villages are being shelled, reports of attrocities are mounting, panic reigns. It is believed that the Serbs are under the leadership of an infamous and tempermental commander (known by the locals as "the Mad General") who is also a suspected war criminal from the early years of the war. NATO will not be able to send large forces to meet this threat for some weeks, and by then many innocent lives will be lost. The U.S., however, has come up with a bold plan: to send a task force into the mountains behind Serbian lines, capture the General, and bring him to justice. Played on Map 100. Game time: 70 minutes.

NOTE: As of 11/4/04, the official version of the Mad General is now version 3.0, which includes many rule changes and OOB updates to reflect the expanded database in TacOps version 4.

The Motherland
Following a breakthrough at the front, a U.S. task force is racing eastward toward Byelorussia's industrial heartland in an effort to strike several key weapons factories and refineries deep in OPFOR's rear. A successful attack could cripple OPFOR's arms production and perhaps even bring about an early end to the war. Capturing a nearby air base is also a possibility. But OPFOR reinforcements may be on the way, and if the U.S. can't hold them off the task force could be annihilated before these strategic assets can be destroyed. Played on Map 515. Game time, 60 minutes or less. (To download Map 515, go to the Map Room.)

Mac users should download the full-color Mac bundle, which includes six preset TacOps game files for easier setups. If you already downloaded the 1.0 or 1.1 Mac bundle prior to the release of 1.2 and you only want the updated rules, just download the Motherland 1.3 DocMaker document. PC users should download the PDF version which is readable using Acrobat Reader. (Sorry, no prepared setup files at this time), and is based on version 1.2. Then download the PC update text file which describes the changes made in version 1.3.

Note: The correct version of the Motherland brief is now version 1.3, which was created 12/28/99. Please make sure you and your partner are using this version.

Charge of the Light Brigade

This scenario is an attempt to draw on a hypothetical battle in order to portray a
different aspect of Desert Shield/Storm than TF Peterjohn does. The scenario
provides a new challenge to the US player as the reinforced 2nd Brigade of the
82nd Airborne Division tries to break through the defences of an Iraqi Mechanised
Brigade. US Light Forces that have been modelled exactly on what was available
after the first week of Desert Shield attack a foe that is about equal in numbers,
mechanically superior but technologically vastly outclassed. The scenario is not an easy one for the US player, but it can be done. Played on Map14. Game time: 180 minutes.

Semper Fi

A small, peaceful country has just been invaded by its expansionist neighbor to the north and is expected to be annexed as a province of the aggressor nation within the next few days. To liberate its ally, the U.S. has sent the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit to the region with orders to conduct an amphibious landing behind OPFOR lines, secure a route inland, and cut off OPFOR's transport routes to the east. The U.S. will have plenty of air support, recon and superior weapons, but the terrain -- and time -- favor the enemy. To complicate matters even more, the U.S. has just learned that OPFOR reinforcements are on the way. Played on Map 502. Game time, 90 minutes.

Team Trackless

This is a custom scenario template containing an experimental US unit organization that makes it easier for people to experiment with the proposed order of battle for a US "trackless" (i.e., wheeled, no tracks) brigade. The template provides experimental US unit organizations that are based on wheeled APCs and IFVs. Blue forces based on the LAV are identified with a "TT" while modified Blue heavy forces based on the LAV are identified with "MITF." Some additional OPFOR unit organizations were also added. Experimental organizations are marked with an asterisk in the organization pools. To find out more about this unit and how it is being "unofficially playtested" by a number of military professionals, go to the Team Trackless Page. NOTE: You must have TacOps 3.0 to run this file.

The Warzaw Pact is trying to seize key islands and airfields in northern Norway for their campaign to disrupt NATO shipments in the Atlantic. US Marines deployed to Norway before open war began and are now aiding in the defense. It is now clear that Andoya and it´s airfield is the next objective for the Soviets. A US marine battalion is close enough to reinforce the lone rifle company defending the island. They disembark on the western shore and begin steering their slow vehicles northwards as the Soviet hovercrafts become visible on the horizon. Played on Map 505. Game time: 75 minutes.

Fulda Gap

Two scenarios covering a hypothetical Cold War attack of the right wing of the Soviet 8th Guards Army in the Fulda Gap:

Fulda 1985: The leading motorized rifle division attempts to establish a bridgehead across the Fulda River. A US armored cavalry squadron is trying to delay the attack until reinforcements can arrive. Played on map301c. Game length is 240 turns.

Fulda Three-Map Scenario: A very large scenario covering the initial Soviet attack as well as the release of the second echelon tank division. US forces consist of a screening armored cavalry squadron and a reinforcing armored brigade. Due to its size, this scenario is played on maps 304c, 305c and 306c simultaneously, and some simple rules allow units to move between maps. Game length is 720 turns.
