TacOps Links

Kyle Mizokami's TacOps Order of Battle Page -- This is a well-organized site devoted to listing orders of battle for just about every level and branch within the U.S. military as well as within the armed forces of a number of other countries. Better yet, many of the orders of battle are listed "in TacOps terms" to help you put together scenarios in a snap. Includes orbats for Atlantica, the fictional OPFOR used in U.S. military training and simulations.

James Sterrett's IRC CPX Page -- The main site for learning about CPX games, which are scheduled regularly throughout the year. BMP maps of standard TacOps maps are available here, too.

Basil's TacOps Learning Center -- Under construction. Promises to be a valuable resource for improving tactics. May also include lessons learned from the new BCT (Brigade Combat Team) game.

Mitchell Mock's Player Scenario Page -- More scenarios and maps are available here, as well as other links.

TacOps Information Resource-- While very old and mostly outdated, this link still has a lot of up-to-date remarks about tactics as they apply to TacOps.

Military Links

The following is a digest of some of the more popular sites of interest about military affairs (mostly U.S. and Canadian). For a more comphensive list of links on military forces from around the world including more detailed information on U.S. orders of battle and TO&E's, see the Intel page located at this site.

U.S. Army homepage -- Features news stories and late- breaking information

U.S. Navy homepage -- First stop in a very expansive website. Search engine allows you to check status of U.S. ships and fleets

U.S. Navy Fact File -- If you're looking up something specific, skip the Navy homepage and just go here. A great starting point for any research regarding the navy, from platforms to ordnances, to current fleet assignments of each ship.

U.S. Marines homepage -- Home of the Leathernecks.

U.S. Military Aircraft -- Information overkill for just about any type of U.S aircraft you can name.

Airforce Library -- Great photo gallery of aircraft.

DoD Dictionary of Military Acronyms and Abbreviations -- A translation guide for civvies.

Missile Threats and Responses -- Everything you ever wanted to know about missiles, and things to shoot them down with.

Army weapons projects -- Current weapons systems for armies around the world:

ROTC page featuring armored vehicles and helicopters -- includes photos.

Military photo archive -- Archive of military news photos, presumably meant as a resource for the news flaks.

Army Forces Command Home Page -- A gateway to many official armed forces web sites, an armed forces personnel locator, photos, and so on, and so on.

Military Hardware Image Gallery -- Some nifty photos of various military vehicles, aircraft and small arms.

Military Analysis Network -- Very comprehensive site. Includes more information than you could ever want to know about U.S. weapons systems as well as lots of other info.

Canadian Army Links -- A starting place for info on the Canadian Army.

Canadian Army Lessons Learned Centre -- Just like the title says.

Team Trackless Page -- Team Trackless is a volunteer, unclassified effort to use commercial wargames to test new doctrine and tactics for the new "trackless" (wheeled armored vehicles) brigades the US Army is experimenting with.

The Site Devoted to Things That Blow Other Things Up -- Nick Moran's site, containing plenty of photos and information on both ground and naval forces.

The Stratfor.com Home Page -- A great place to go for scenario ideas. The STRATFOR website has decade forcasts for the world, Asia, Russia, Europe, Middle East, Africa, Latin America and the United States. The world forcast can be found at http://www.stratfor.com/services/giu/forecasts.asp
